1. How often does the City pick-up rubbish?

Residential rubbish is picked up weekly.

2. I've seen people scavenging through resident's rubbish, is this allowed?

No one is permitted to remove or take rubbish/recyclables deposited on the tree lawn for collection by the city, per Codified Ordinance Sections 759.01 and 759.99.

A violation of this law is a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.

3. People often throw trash and other paper items on the ground. What can I do about it?

Littering in our community is a serious problem. Section 527.02 of the Codified Ordinances reads:

No person shall throw or deposit litter in or upon any street, sidewalk, or other public place within the city except in public receptacles, in authorized private receptacles for collection, or in official city dumps.

Violation of this ordinance is a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.
