Volunteers Needed for Veterans Memorial Spruce Up Projects
This spring, a group of volunteers from the Community Garden Program will spruce up and improve the areas in town that honor and memorialize our military veterans. Help is needed! To participate, contact the city’s economic development department at 216-475-5484 or e-mail psalemi@garfieldhts.org.
It is not too early to start thinking about the growing season and the Community Garden Program welcomes new participants. The highly successful Community Garden Program here in Garfield Heights was started with grant funding. The gardeners, who nurture not only their plots but each other, ended the past two planting seasons with a Harvest Fest attended and enjoyed by hundreds of residents. This year, a new garden is being developed near Garfield Heights High School. The city’s economic development department can provide additional information about the Community Garden Program. E-mail nkuban@garfieldhts.org.
