Garfield Heights, founded in 1919 and known as the, "City of Homes" has grown to a city of approximately 30,000 people. But aside from building and nurturing a strong community environment for our residents, we have also managed to create a favorable climate for business that continues to attract a variety of commercial, retail and office developments.

This successful union of residential and business interests has helped us to expand and extend the number and scope of facilities, services and activities that we enjoy --- without raising our (2%) city income tax rate since 1983!

We are conveniently located in the center of Cuyahoga County, near the intersection of Ohio Interstate Routes I-480 and I-77 - within 15 minutes of downtown Cleveland and the variety of businesses, cultural and entertainment attractions it offers and only 15 minutes away from Hopkins International Airport.

Our city has grown to be a vibrant, full-service community offering a wide variety of entertainment, recreational and social programs and activities for young and old alike. You can find specific information about many of these popular programs and activities on links found on our home page.
